Senior Project Manager - Major Projects

As a seasoned consultant in major power transmission projects, we provide expert guidance in project development, regulatory navigation, and execution planning. With a deep understanding of industry frameworks, we lead cross-functional coordination, ensuring seamless integration of technical, financial, and compliance objectives. Our expertise in underground transmission applications and regulatory processes helps drive efficient, high-quality project execution. Key areas of focus include:

  • Manage AESO and AUC (Regulatory), Market Participant (Generator), integrated TFO (Altalink), and internal project sponsors input to develop project framework and strategies relating to scope, schedule, safety, quality, risk, and financial objectives.
  • Liaise with project stakeholder groups including Engineering, Asset Management, Transmission Planning, Protection and Control, T&D Engineering Services, System Operations, Distribution, Telecom, Field Services, and Supply Chain, with respect to design, construction and scheduling activities.
  • Support TFO creation of Business cases, Facility Applications, TCOS applications, IR responses, written and oral AUC hearing processes.
  • Execution of Major Transmission projects, with primary focus on underground transmission applications.

Senior Project Manager

Project Manage the planning, NID assistance, NID, SP, and execution of the ECTP Project consisting of:

  • ENMAX No. 25 Substation: A new four diameter breaker and a half, 240kV switchyard to connect Shepard Energy Center (880MW) to the transmission system. Substation

    consisted of three generator infeeds and four 240kV U/G Transmission lines.

  • ENMAX No. 2 Substation conversion
    • an AIS to GIS 138kV substation conversion from simple bus AIS to 4 diameter, 15 breaker, breaker and a third GIS, and convert five O/H 138kV lines to U/G for termination.
    • replacement of all associated distribution infrastructure and a replacement of existing 15kV metalclad swgr with 15kV GIS and feeder re-termination

      • Relocation of four 138:15kV 30MVA transformers

  • New 2.80L and 23.80L: new 138kV 1033kcmil transmission lines through dense

    urban and industrial environments, including double circuit configurations with existing lines, navigable water crossings, and major thoroughfare crossings.

  • Re-alignment and re-configuration of three existing 138kV overhead transmission lines to make room for Alberta Infrastructures South West Ring Road project, involving tunneling, open trenching, duct bank installation, and 138kV cable installation and termination.

  • Work with various government agencies (transportation, infrastructure, land, and first nations relations groups) to develop the plans, schedule, and budgets for utility and thoroughfare integration.

  • Work with P3 contractors for project integration, design reviews, and estimating.

  • A relocation of existing 138kV U/G double circuit transmission lines 1.82/1.84L from a densely populated high traffic avenue to an adjacent avenue
  • 1km of 138kV U/G transmission lines in a reinforced duct package and manhole system
  • A relocation of O/H 138kV double circuit transmission lines 2.82/2.84L into a hybrid configuration in a densely populated area slated for development
  • 3.5km of 138kV U/G transmission lines in a reinforced duct package and manhole system.
